Service Reductions Starting February 27, 2023
Beginning Monday, February 27, 2023, Halifax Transit temporarily suspended service on three bus routes, made schedule adjustments to three routes, and removed trips from 30 routes. For more information about these service reductions, please visit our Service Adjustments page.
Stop Closures - Barrington St, Upper Water St, And Valour Way
Date: Effective Monday, October 28, 2024, until further notice
6 stops on Barrington St and Upper Water St will continue to be impacted by construction and the opening of a new roundabout connecting Barrington St and Upper Water St. These stops will be impacted as follows:
- Stop Barrington St After Nora Bernard St (6125) will close permanently. Passengers on Routes 1, 2, 5, 10, 29, 84, 93, and 158 are directed to a temporary stop located in front of 2180 Upper Water St.
- Stop Barrington St Before Nora Bernard St (6104) will close until further notice. Passengers on Routes 1, 2, 5, 10, 29, 84, and 93 are directed to a temporary stop located approximately 100 metres before the location of Stop 6104 OR to a temporary stop located in front of 2180 Upper Water St.
- The temporary stop located on Barrington St before Nora Bernard St, opposite the Metro Turning Point Centre, will close permanently. Passengers on Routes 2, 29, and 84 are are directed to a temporary stop located on Upper Water St before the roundabout.
- A new temporary stop located on Barrington St after the roundabout, travelling towards the Macdonald Bridge, will be serviced by Routes 2, 29, and 84.
- Stops Upper Water St Before Valour Way (8414), Upper Water St After Valour Way (8413), and Upper Water St Before Cogswell St (8606) are now considered permanently closed.
*Please note that Route 50 will not service Stop Barrington St Before North St (2021).
*Please note that buses travelling through this area at evening rush hours are currently experiencing significant delays due to construction associated with the Cogswell District project.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, until further notice, Stop Robie St After Veterans Memorial Ln (8179) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4, 7A, 8, and 90 are directed to a temporary stop located approximately 50 metres before the current stop.
Beginning Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, until further notice, Stop Robie St Before Quinpool Rd (8223) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4, 7A, 8, and 90 are directed to Stop Robie St After Quinpool Rd (8184).

Starting Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, Stop Oxford St After North St (7411) will be relocated until further notice due to construction. Passengers on Route 1 are directed to the stop's temporary location located on Oxford St near Civic 2663.
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, until further notice, Stop Joseph Howe Dr After Clinton Ave (7006) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Route 24 are directed to a temporary stop located in front of Civic 2669 Joseph Howe Dr.
Starting Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, Stop Barrington St After South St (6096) will be closed until further notice, due to a long-term construction project. Passengers on Route 7B are directed to Stop Barrington St Before Morris St (6113).

Beginning Wednesday, Apr. 10, 2024, until further notice, Stop South Park St Before Inglis St (8310) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4 and 10 are directed to Stop Inglis St Before Tower Rd (6970).

Beginning Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, until further notice, Routes 29 and 90 will be on detour daily on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. due to construction.

Beginning Monday, May 13, 2024, until approximately May 2025, Stop Herring Cove Rd Opposite Bronson Ave (6908) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 9A and 9B are directed to the temporary stop approximately 35m Southeast at Civic 666.
Beginning Wednesday, Jul. 17, 2024, until further notice, Stop Robie St Before Cedar St (8196) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4, 7B, 8, and 90 are directed to Stop Robie St After Pepperall St (8183).
Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, until further notice, Stop Windsor St Before Strawberry Hill St (8567) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4 and 90 are directed to a temporary stop located approximately 60 metres before the current stop, before Hood St.
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, until further notice, Route 330 will be on detour.

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, Stop Spring Garden Rd After South Park St (8322) will be closed on weekdays (Monday to Friday), from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., due to construction. Passengers on Route 4 are directed to Stop Spring Garden Rd Before Summer St (8335).
Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, until Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at 6 p.m., Stop Robie St After Cunard St (8205) will be closed due to construction. Passengers on Routes 4, 7B, 8, and 90 are directed to Stop Robie St After Welsford St (8190).
Beginning Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, Stop Main Ave After Titus St (7166) will be closed until further notice. Passengers on Routes 2, 3, 4, 135, 136, and 138 are directed to Stop Main Ave After Ford St (7163).
Beginning Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 3, 2025, Routes 2, 3 and 24 will be on detour due to construction.
