Please note:

  • The provincial burn ban remains in place for the entire province until Oct. 15 or until otherwise advised by the Province of Nova Scotia. The municipality is asking residents to continue to exercise caution in wooded areas and to report any signs of fire to 911.

  • Per By-law P-600 (Respecting Municipal Parks) open fires and campfires are not permitted within municipal parks at any time.

  • Before planning or participating in outdoor events, it's crucial to assess air quality risks—especially during wildfire risk season. Visit the Government of Canada’s website to learn how coaches, officials and event organizers use the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) to make informed decisions and adapt plans as air conditions change.
