Penhorn Lake Naturalization Project

Residents are invited to participate in a planting workshop from May 13-16 along Penhorn Lake’s shoreline to help improve local water quality, enhance the freshwater ecosystem and manage erosion.

To participate: Register here.

Halifax Regional Municipality is working with Helping Nature Heal Inc. to help facilitate this community-based planting workshop. Participants will actively participate in the restoration of the lake’s shoreline.

This workshop is open to participants aged 18 and older. Participants will learn the skills needed to help nature heal and create more resilient landscapes. This particular project is focused on methods to enhance freshwater shorelines. You can learn more about the Shore Up program here: helpingnatureheal.com/shore-up-nova-scotia/
