(a) Resolution to Approve Area Rates and Amend the Approved Operating Budget for Fiscal 2017-18 (Appendix A of the staff report dated July 4, 2017),
(b) Schedule of Area Tax Rates (Appendix B of the staff report dated July 4, 2017), and
(c) Budgeted Revenues (Appendix C of the staff report dated July 4, 2017),
2. Discontinue the Hammonds Plains Common Area Rate levied on each of the taxable residential and resource property assessments as depicted in the attached Map (Appendix F of the staff report dated July 4, 2017)
3. Discontinue the Musquodoboit Harbour Common Area Rate levied on each of the taxable residential and resource property assessments as depicted in the attached Map (Appendix G of the staff report dated July 4, 2017);
4. Amend the area rate for LWF Ratepayers Association from $0.03 to $0.026 per $100 of residential and resource assessment and instruct staff to only process grants, for Windsor Junction Community Centre, Keloose, Lakeview Park or others committed as of July 18 2017.
5. Direct staff to review all relevant policies relating to area rates including the funding of capital assets and the provision of grants and, until that review is completed,
a. direct that no additional area rates to be established with the exception of private road maintenance fees, and

14.3 TRANSPORTATION STANDING COMMITTEE
14.3.1 Alternate Side of the Street Parking to Allow for Daytime Cleaning [PDF]

That Halifax Regional Council:
1. Direct the Chief Administrative Officer to instruct staff to begin removal of overnight parking restrictions related to street cleaning activities in those areas where daytime parking is minimal and switch to daytime sweeping operation in those areas.
2. Direct the Chief Administrative Officer to instruct staff to include for consideration in the 2018-2019 proposed budget the cost of piloting alternate side of the street parking to allow for daytime street sweeping in the area identified in the staff report dated April 27, 2017 and;
3. Direct the Chief Administrative Officer to instruct staff to continue to assess street sweeping routes on an on-going basis to identify any further areas that could be moved to daytime operations because of minimal daytime parking demands.
