HALIFAX AND WEST COMMUNITY COUNCIL

On July 16, 2024, Halifax and West Community Council approved the application to enter into a Development Agreement to create 37 lots with a total of 56 main dwelling units on new public roads on the rear portions of 870, 874 and 876 Herring Cove Road and PID 40074551, Herring Cove.

Brighter Community Planning & Consulting is applying to enter into a Development Agreement to create 37 lots with a total of 56 dwelling units on new public roads on the rear portions of PIDs 40074544, 40075087 AND 40074551, Herring Cove.

Proposal

The applicant wishes to create 37 new lots containing a mix of single unit dwellings and two-unit dwellings, for a total of 56 dwelling units. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • Proposed street extension off Angler Drive;
  • 37 lots proposed;
  • Total of 56 dwelling units consisting of a mix of single unit and two-unit dwellings;
  • 6886 square metres of common open space; and
  • Non-disturbance area proposed along rear portion of several lots.

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to proposed lots, driveway access, proposed parkland and proposed natural open space. 
 

Process

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement Process.

TAKE NOTICE THAT Halifax and West Community Council did, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, approve the following: 

PLANAPP 2023-00563 – Application by Brighter Community Planning & Consulting to enter into a Development Agreement to create 37 lots with a total of 56 main dwelling units on new public roads on the rear portions of 870, 874 and 876 Herring Cove Road and PID 40074551, Herring Cove.

Any aggrieved person, the Provincial Director of Planning, or the Council of any adjoining municipality may, within fourteen days of the publishing of this notice on the HRM website, appeal to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (902.424.4448), in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.

This notice was posted to this site on July 17, 2024 in accordance with the requirements of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.
