Provincial legislation passed in 2022 suspended Planning Advisory Committees for three years; in 2025 this suspension was extended until November 25, 2026.
On June 8, 2017, Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council approved the formation of a Planning Advisory Committee to consider an application for a mixed-use development, by development agreement, at 651 Portland Hills Drive, Dartmouth. The community council appoints six citizens to this committee.
