Motion:
That the Board of Police Commissioners for the Halifax Regional Municipality adopt the Board of Police Commissioners Budget Timeline, replacing the Halifax Regional Police Business Plan/Budget Timeline, for inclusion in the Board of Police Commissioners’ Policy Manual, as outlined in Attachment 1 of the staff report dated May 31, 2024.

Motion:
That the Board of Police Commissioners for the Halifax Regional Municipality consider the appointment of a Commissioner as the Board’s nominee to serve on the Canadian Association of Police Governance Board of Directors for the term 2024-2026.

11.1
Commissioner Kent – Police Transformation Study & MCC Report Recommendations [PDF]
Motion:
That the Board of Police Commissioners for the Halifax Regional Municipality:

1. Direct the Chief of the HRP and advise the Officer in Charge of the RCMP to work together in reviewing each recommendation contained in the MCC Report, Volume 5, Policing; 

2. Direct the Chief of the HRP and advise the Officer in Charge of the RCMP to produce a joint staff report outlining those recommendations in which they are able to work together to implement; and

3. Direct the Chief of the HRP and advise the Officer in Charge of the RCMP to provide joint quarterly updates using the Joint Chief Reporting Template

The Board of Police Commissioners may rise and go into a private In Camera (In Private) session, in accordance with Section 51 of the Nova Scotia Police Act for the purposes of dealing with the following:
