Motion:
That the Chair of the Board of Police Commissioners recommend that the Chief Administrative Officer, in consultation to the extent necessary with the Chief Officer of the Halifax Regional Police, to prepare a staff report responding to and providing reasons for either accepting or rejecting recommendations #5 and #6 of the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for Nova Scotia Review Report 22-12, dated July 14, 2022. If some or all of the recommendations are accepted, the staff report should also provide a plan for implementing these recommendations.
10.3.3 Commissioner Critchley - Creation of governance subcommittee [PDF]
Motion:
1. That the Board of Police Commissioners create a governance subcommittee (the “Subcommittee”) composed of no more than three (3) members of the Board of Police Commissioners, no fewer than one (1) of whom will be a Member of the Halifax Regional Council, as well as any number of members of the Halifax Regional Police, HRM, and the public as the Subcommittee deems necessary.
2. That the Chair of the Board of Police Commissioners direct that the Subcommittee prepare a Terms of Reference governing its work to be reviewed by the Board of Police Commissioners at a future meeting.
