EN FRThe Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that an evacuation centre has been opened at the Canada Games Centre, located at 26 Thomas Raddall Drive. The evacuation centre has been opened to support residents impacted by the fires, especially those do not have family supports or insurance. The Canada Games Centre will remain open until further notice.

EN FREffective 11 p.m. tonight, Mayor Mike Savage and Regional Council have declared a local state of emergency in the communities affected by the fires. The local state of emergency will be in effect for seven days, unless otherwise lifted or extended.
