The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that registration has opened for the municipality’s 2023 Volunteer Conference. This year’s conference will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Dartmouth (240 Brownlow Avenue, Dartmouth).

Halifax Regional Council today approved the recommendation by the Board of Police Commissioners to appoint Don MacLean as the Acting Chief of Police. MacLean, who is currently Deputy Chief of Operations, assumes the position on Sept. 16 following the retirement of Chief Dan Kinsella on Sept. 15.
