Mobile Household Special Waste (HSW) Depots
Mobile community events take place between May and October. Bring your unwanted Household Special Waste to the mobile depot to be handled and disposed of by experts. Join Halifax Solid Waste for a community clean-up. Drop by an event to talk about litter and waste management. Free supplies to pick-up litter outside will be provided.

Shred Instead Event
Free yourself of clutter and find some great free items of your own during Curbside Give Away Weekend. This event takes place rain or shine, twice a year all across the municipality. Click here for more information.

Have sensitive documents you’d like to shred? Bring them to our Shred Instead Event to have them disposed of safely and for free. Shredding documents is a great way to protect against identity theft. Limit of the equivalent of 3 boxes per household. Residential only, no business waste accepted.
