BY-LAW P-510 RESPECTING PARKING METERS FOR THE REGULATION OF PARKING OF VEHICLES LEFT STANDING IN THE HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law P-510, Respecting Parking Meters for the Regulation of Parking of Vehicles Left Standing in the Halifax Regional Municipality was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on May 23, 2023.
By-law P-510 amends By-law P-500 Respecting Parking Meters and Pay Stations for the Regulation of Parking of Vehicles Left Standing in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The purpose of the amendment is to make the necessary legislative changes that will introduce incremental parking fines to discourage citizens from repeatedly violating paid parking regulations, leading to a more efficient and safer transportation system.

BY-LAW B-206 RESPECTING THE BUILDING CODE, BY-LAW F-203 REPEALING BY-LAW F-200 AND AMENDING BY-LAW R-100, AND BY-LAW U-115 RESPECTING USER CHARGES
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law B-206, By-law F-203, and By-law U-115 were adopted by Halifax Regional Council on May 23, 2023.
By-law B-206 amends By-law B-201, Respecting the Building Code. By-law F-203 repeals By-law F-200, Respecting Fees for Permits and Licenses, and amends By-law R-100 Respecting the Repeal of By-laws and Ordinances. By-law U-115 amends By-law U-100, Respecting User Charges. The purpose of the amendments is to increase various Planning and Development related fees as proposed in the 2023/24 operating budget, to account for cost of living increases, and other housekeeping amendments.

The purpose of By-law R-400, Respecting Registration of Residential Properties is to establish a municipal residential registry.

NOTICE OF SECOND READING
BY-LAW U-113 RESPECTING USER CHARGES
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Halifax Regional Municipality will consider the adoption of By-law U-113 at a meeting of Regional Council to be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in the Halifax Council Chamber, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.
By-law U-113 will amend By-law U-100 Respecting User Charges. The purpose of the amendment is to establish fees for Public Electrical Vehicle Charging stations that are owned by the Municipality.
The Council will receive written submissions from interested persons concerning the above by-law at the June 6, 2023 session of Council. Written submissions must be received by the Municipal Clerk’s Office no later than 9:00 a.m. on the advertised date.
