NOTICE OF SECOND READING
BY-LAW M-401 RESPECTING AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAW M-400, THE MARKETING LEVY BY-LAW

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Halifax Regional Municipality will consider the adoption of By-law M-401 at a meeting of Regional Council to be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in the Halifax Council Chamber, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.

By-law M-401 will amend By-law M-400, Respecting Marketing Levy. The purpose of the amendment is to cancel any charges imposed on an operator under section 14 of this by-law for the period October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, provided the charges accrued on a remittance value of $0.00 and to give the Treasurer or delegate the authority to waive, remove or reduce assessment fines.

The Council will receive written submissions from interested persons concerning the above by-law at the April 23, 2024 session of Council. Written submissions must be received by the Municipal Clerk’s Office no later than 9:00 a.m. on the advertised date.  Written submissions may be forwarded to the Municipal Clerk by email, clerks@halifax.ca, by fax, 902-490-4208; or by mail, P.O. BY-LAW S-452 RESPECTING CHARGES FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Halifax Regional Municipality will consider the adoption of By-law S-452 at a meeting of Regional Council to be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in the Halifax Council Chamber, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.

By-law S-452 will amend By-law S-400, Respecting Charges for Street Improvements. The purpose of the amendment is to impose an LIC to 50 properties for the paving of Glory Avenue, Hope Avenue, Lake Eagle Drive, Lake Mist Court, Noble Court, Queens Road and Joel Crescent.

The Council will receive written submissions from interested persons concerning the above by-law at the April 23, 2024 session of Council.
