NOTICE OF APPROVAL

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY INVESTMENT POLICY

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Halifax Regional Municipality Investment Policy has been amended by Halifax Regional Council. The purpose of the amendment is to dissolve the Investment Policy Advisory Committee and indicate the Audit and Finance Standing acts as the Policy Committee in the Investment Policy.

The text of the amended Halifax Regional Municipality Investment Policy may be viewed on the Internet in the Audit and Finance Standing Committee section at https://www.halifax.ca/city-hall/standing-committees/audit-finance-standing-committee or copies obtained from the Office of the Municipal Clerk, 1841 Argyle Street, 1st floor, Halifax between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

NOTICE OF APPROVAL

BY-LAW T-801, RESPECTING PROPERTY TAX BILLING FOR TAX RELIEF RECIPIENTS

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law T-801, Respecting Property Tax Billing for Tax Relief Recipients was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on November 18, 2025.

By-law T-801 amends By-law T-800, Respecting Property Tax Billing for Tax Relief Recipients. The purpose of the amendments is to reflect the repeal of Administrative Order 2014-001-ADM and replacement with Administrative Order 2024-001-ADM Respecting Tax Relief for Non-Profit and Registered Canadian Charitable Organizations, and to amend the tax billing twice per fiscal year.

The text of the amended By-law T-800 can be requested and obtained from the Office of the Municipal Clerk by emailing clerks@halifax.ca, calling 902-490-4210 or faxing 902-490-4208. The updated version of By-law T-800 will be posted to the Internet in the Legislation & By-law section at halifax.ca prior to its effective date on April 1, 2026.

Effective date: April 1, 2026.

NOTICE OF SECOND READING

BY-LAW B-403 RESPECTING BURGLARY, ROBBERY AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Halifax Regional Municipality will consider the adoption of By-law B-403 at a meeting of Regional Council to be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in the Halifax Council Chamber, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.

By-law B-403 will amend By-law B-400, Respecting Burglary, Robbery and Fire Alarm Systems. The purpose of the amendments is to implement a flat fee for false alarms and to provide greater clarity when a false alarm fee is applicable.

The Council will receive written submissions from interested persons concerning the above by-law at the January 13, 2026 session of Council. Written submissions must be received by the Municipal Clerk’s Office no later than 9:00 a.m. on the advertised date.  Written submissions may be forwarded to the Municipal Clerk by email, clerks@halifax.ca, by fax, 902-490-4208; or by mail, P.O.
