Motion: 
That the Chair of the Board of the Police Commissioners direct the chief officer of the Halifax Regional Police to prepare a staff report responding to the recommendations of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board and outlining:

1. If Halifax Regional Police will be implementing the suggestions put forward by the Review Board;

2. What training and education is in place for officers for the three topics outlined in the Nova Scotia Police Review Board decision;

3. Highlighting improvement opportunities in education or training related to the outlined topics; and

4. A plan to address the necessary improvements.

11.1 Commissioner Smith - Board Policy Respecting Extra-Duty Employment [PDF]
Motion:
1.    That the Board of Police Commissioners waive notice of motion as set out in section 49(1) of Administrative Order One, Respecting the Procedures of the Council. 

2.    That the Board of Police Commissioners direct the Chief of Police to present to the Board proposed written policies respecting extra-duty employment and off-duty employment by members of the Halifax Regional Police for review and adoption by the Halifax Board of Police Commissioners as Board policies.

11.2 Commissioner McDougall - Canadian Association of Police Governance 33rd Annual Conference Virtual Registration [PDF]
Motion:
1.    That the Board of Police Commissioners waive notice of motion as set out in section 49(1) of Administrative Order One, Respecting the Procedures of the Council. 

2.    That the Board of Police Commissioners approve the registration of the Board of Police Commissioners as a virtual participant at the Canadian Association of Police Governance 33rd Annual Conference and First Nations Police Governance Conference to be held in-person and virtually in Saskatoon from September 7 to 11, 2022. The Board’s virtual registration will be for up to five attendees including Commissioner Yemi Akindoju.
