Update: Police investigate stabbing

Halifax Regional Police have a suspect in custody in relation to the stabbing earlier today in Dartmouth. Police are not seeking additional suspects at this time.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., police responded to an altercation between two individuals in the 200 block of Portland Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Portland Street from Maitland Street to Albert Street remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic while police conduct their investigation. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
