Police investigate robbery - Suspect in custody
Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred on April 7 in downtown Halifax.
On Friday, at 11:46 a.m., a man reported to officers that he had been a victim of a robbery near Parklane Mall located at 5657 Spring Garden Road. The suspect was a man unknown to the victim. The suspect did not have a weapon but used physical force against the victim and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers responding to the call located a suspect matching the description and arrested the suspect for robbery charges following a foot chase. The officers, victim and suspect were not injured in this matter.
A 26-year-old man has been charged for the following offences:
- Robbery
- Resisting Arrest
- Breach of Probation x 4
- Failure to Comply with a Release Order x 2
The suspect is being held for court.
