This Sunday marks the 39th annual Peace Officers’ Memorial, which is held each year at Grand Parade in downtown Halifax. The event honours peace officers based in Nova Scotia who died in the line of duty and is a humbling reminder of the selflessness and dedication of those who lost their lives while serving others.

Halifax Regional Police have issued a summary offence ticket for failing to comply with the regulations set out in the Health Protection Act. On October 5 police responded to a private fitness facility in Dartmouth in relation to a report that a man refused to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask when requested to do so by staff. Officers issued the man a summary offence ticket under section 71 (1) (b) of the Health Protection Act for failing to comply with the act and its regulations which carries a fine of $2,422.
