Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A man and woman face charges after a traffic stop on Tuesday night.

On February 26, at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that was known to have been stolen, leaving a closed business in the 400 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth.

The driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and arrested at 12:55 a.m. without incident.

At the time of arrest, the passenger was in possession of a quantity of cash and drugs that police seized.

The passenger, Antonio Eben Carvery, 37, appeared in Dartmouth provincial court on February 26th to face charges of:

  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
  • possession of a scheduled 1 substance (x2)
  • obstruct public-peace officer
  • failure to comply with conditions of release order (x4)
  • failure to attend court

Carvery is scheduled to reappear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.

The driver, Zatora Sofia Hines, 34, was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00 and was released on an undertaking and scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
