Three people arrested after robbery in Halifax

On August 29 at 12:35 a.m., police responded to a weapons complaint on Lincoln Cross after a group of youth walking in the area were approached by another group of youth and one adult who were in a vehicle.  Three youths who were walking were sprayed with a sensory irritant and one of those youth was also physically assaulted.  A number of personal items were taken from the victims.  EHS attended and treated the victims for non-life threatening injuries.

A traffic stop was conducted on Voyager Way where the suspects were arrested.   K9 conducted a search of the area and items involved in the incident were located. Police do not believe this to be a random act.

Nineteen-year-old Johnathan Paul Carvery of Hammonds Plains attended Halifax Provincial Court yesterday to face the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon X3
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of stolen property

The two youth also attended Youth Court at Halifax Provincial Court yesterday and each face the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Assault with a Weapon X4
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon X2
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
