Police seek driver who fled from motor vehicle collision

On May 12, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Halifax Regional Police attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of Bayview Road and Woodbank Terrace, Halifax. The officer activated their emergency lights and siren but the driver did not pull over, the officer did not pursue the vehicle.  

Police subsequently located the vehicle a short distance away. It had collided with a house in the 100 block of Clayton Park Drive, Halifax. No one was injured in the home. The driver, who was the lone occupant, fled the scene on foot. Members of the K-9 Unit attempted to track the suspect, however, the suspect was not located. 

The suspect is described as black male, 20 to 30-years-old and approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans at the time of the incident.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 902-490-5016.
