Motion:
That Executive Standing Committee approve the 2022 meeting schedule as presented.
12.1.2 Councillor Nominations – Halifax Regional Library Board & Indigenous Community Liaison [PDF]
Motion:
That Executive Standing Committee recommend that Halifax Regional Council:
1. Appoint Councillor Morse to the Halifax Regional Library Board for a term to November 20022 as outlined in the discussion section of this report; and
2. Appoint Councillor Mason as the Indigenous Community Liaison for a term to November 2022 as outlined in the discussion section of this report.
12.2 WOMEN’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE
12.2.1 Review of municipal services to address housing affordability, housing insecurity, and homelessness using an intersectional gender lens [PDF]
Motion:
That Executive Standing Committee:
1. Direct the Chief Administrative Officer to prepare a staff report about the use of an intersectional gender lens on housing and homelessness initiatives within the mandate of the Halifax Regional Municipality; and
2. Review the recommendations emerging from the Home for Good research project attached in the December 2, 2021 Request for Women’s Advisory Committee Consideration form.
Motion:
That the Executive Standing Committee direct the Chief Administrative Officer to prepare a staff report that investigates other municipalities’ work around anti-Muslim hate and racism and makes recommendations on potential actions to combat anti-Muslim hate and racism, particularly with respect to women, in Halifax Regional Municipality.
