Every four years, the Halifax Regional Municipality holds a general election for both Regional Council and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial’s (CSAP) Halifax-area school board members.
The next Municipal and Conseil scolaire acadien provincial Election is scheduled for the fall of 2028.
Municipal elections allow eligible residents to vote for their choice of:
- Mayor;
- Councillor within their district (16 total); and
- Conseil scolaire acadien provincial Representative (if applicable)
Voters' list
Elections Nova Scotia is responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Electors for Nova Scotia, commonly known as the voters' list. The voters' list is a list of individuals who are eligible to vote in provincial and municipal elections in Nova Scotia.
