The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to share the award winners at the 2024 Volunteer Awards.
This annual event puts a spotlight on residents that have made a difference in their community by donating their time and skills to various programs and services.
Marianne Nash was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Her initiative, Two Tunics, not only provides essential clothing – but has also evolved into a hub of support. In her work, Marianne has recruited 24 additional volunteers and helped thousands of individuals.
The following groups were recognized as Group Award winners: the North End Opportunities Fund Society; the Dartmouth Health Equipment Loan Program; and the JL Ilsley High School Indigenous Student Program.
Individuals from each of the municipality’s districts were recognized by their local councillor, and several Provincial Volunteer Award winners were announced. For a full list of award recipients, visit our website.

La Municipalité annonce les récipiendaires des Prix des bénévoles 2024

La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax est heureuse de dévoiler les récipiendaires des Prix des bénévoles 2024.
Cet événement annuel met en lumière les résidents qui ont fait une différence dans leur collectivité en prêtant leur temps et leurs compétences à divers programmes et services.
Marianne Nash a été nommée bénévole de l’année. Son initiative, Two Tunics, offre non seulement des vêtements essentiels, mais a également évolué en un carrefour de soutien. Dans le cadre de ses efforts, Marianne a recruté 24 bénévoles supplémentaires et a aidé des milliers de personnes.
Les groupes suivants ont été reconnus comme récipiendaires du Prix de groupe : la North End Opportunities Fund Society; le Dartmouth Health Equipment Loan Program; et le JL Ilsley High School Indigenous Student Program.
