Suspicious death ruled a homicide

UPDATE:  The suspicious death that occurred in Halifax last night has been ruled a homicide.  

At approximately 8:54 p.m. on November 23, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 0-100 block of Clovis Avenue in Halifax. A man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Based on today's autopsy, the Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide and identified the victim as 25-year-old Ryan Michael Nehiley.

Investigators believe that the victim was shot inside his residence and that more than one person was involved in the offence. 

Major Crime Investigators and members of the Forensic Identification Section remain at the scene. Police are in the early stages of the investigation and officers are continuing to interview witnesses. We do not believe this incident is random and there are no further updates at this time.

The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Halifax.

At approximately 8:54 p.m. on November 23, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 0-100 of Clovis Avenue in Halifax. A person was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is in its early stages. Though the Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause of death, police are treating this incident as a homicide.
