Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Collision in Dartmouth

UPDATE: All traffic is merging from the 111 Highway and Woodland Avenue onto the 118 Highway outbound is now open. Outbound traffic is still reduced to one lane while the vehicles are towed from the scene. Police have confirmed one adult male, operating a van sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is being transported to the hospital.

 Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Collision in Dartmouth

At 3:50 p.m. on October 18, Halifax Regional Police, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Services and Emergency Health Services responded to a report of a multiple motor vehicle collision on the 118 Highway outbound prior to the Dartmouth Crossing Exit in Dartmouth. Multiple callers reported the collision involves a dump truck and two vehicles. It is unknown at this time if anyone is injured and the seriousness of any injuries.

Traffic was blocked: North bound traffic merging from the 111 Highway and Woodland Avenue onto the 118 Highway outbound is stopped and being diverted at this time. Traffic is reduced to one outbound lane on the 118 Highway. Once the backlog of traffic is cleared police will allow traffic to merge from the 111 Highway and Woodland Avenue. 

 The investigation is ongoing and it is not known whether charges are pending at this time.
