The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that registration for the 2017 Nova Scotia Heritage Conference is now open, with special early bird rates available until Oct. 18, 2017.
The conference will be held Nov. 1-3 at the Westin Nova Scotian and will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions and field trips as well as opportunities for information exchange and networking.
The theme of the conference is Working Together and will focus on innovative ways that the municipality can maintain historic sites. A panel discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 1 with lawyer, author and former Heritage Canada Chair Marc Denhez, as well as three representatives from the community, will examine how heritage can be approached as an industry within communities to turn them into attractive destinations for residents, businesses and visitors.
