Friday, April 7, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – The municipality is advising residents that the streetlight conversion project that converts traditional streetlights into new energy efficient LED streetlights will continue next week in District 6 (Harbourview – Burnside - Dartmouth East), and enter into District 7 (Halifax – South – Downtown).
Road users are advised that crews expect to be working on the following higher volume streets in District 6 during the upcoming week:
Braemar Drive
Waverley Road
Montebello Drive
Caledonia Road
Woodlawn Road
Work will also take place next week in District 7, in the area encompassing Quinpool Road, Oxford Street, Robie Street, and Coburg Road.
Work on these streets will generally take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, but may also include some evening and weekend work. For short periods (less than one hour at a time), traffic signals on these streets may be set to flashing red or possibly turned off completely to accommodate the works. Motorists are reminded when signals are flashing red in all four directions the intersection must be treated as a four-way stop. If any signals are turned off, traffic control personnel will be controlling the intersection.
