The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to share feedback on improving active transportation options along Parkland and Regency Park drives.
The proposed design on Parkland and Regency Park Drives includes protected, on-street bike lanes within the existing width of the street, which would minimize the need to relocate utilities or remove trees. Some street parking would be lost to accommodate this proposed design.
The bikeway will connect key neighbourhood destinations including Belchers Marsh, Canada Games Centre, Keshen Goodman Library, and Halifax West High School. The project will review intersections in the study area to see how they can be made more accessible and safer for all users. New locations for marked pedestrian crossings will also be explored.
Public Information Session
Two separate sessions will be available to attend in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday, June 18 at Keshen Goodman Public Library (330 Lacewood Drive):
- 2 to 4 p.m.
- 6 to 8 p.m.
With help from resident feedback, the functional plan is expected to be complete by August 2025. Residents can also provide feedback by visiting shapeyourcityhalifax.ca/parkland-bike-lane.
