Enter into a development agreement to add a 3-storey addition to a building containing a non-conforming institutional use at 6421 Cork Street in Halifax.
Proposal
The applicant has applied to enter into a development agreement for a property located at 6421 Cork Street to add a 3-storey addition at the rear of the existing building. The addition consists of a one level of open-air parking with two suspended stories above. The intent is to expand the Prayer Hall on the second floor and dining area on the third floor.
The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- Three (3) storey addition to the rear of the existing structure
- Ground level kept open to provide for on site parking (8 spaces)
- Second level to add additional space for Prayer Hall
- Main level (above parking) to add additional dining area
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the proposed addition, parking locations, and driveway access.
Process
The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process.
Status
The application is currently in the public engagement stage. We are seeking public feedback on the proposal.
