Police are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred in Halifax earlier this week.

On July 18 at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers responded to a report that a motorcycle had collided with a transport truck and trailer on Dunbrack Street near the exit ramps to Highway 102. The transport truck was not at the scene when police arrived. The motorcyclist, a 17-year-old-youth, was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators have obtained video from the incident and are releasing a photo of a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. They are looking to speak with the driver and locate the truck which is described as being blue/grey, with a sleepover cab and grill protector and was towing an empty tri-axle container chassis.

Police are asking the driver or anyone who has information in relation to the collision or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.

Our thoughts are with the youth’s family, and everyone impacted by this tragic incident.
