Police charge second man in January stabbing

Police have charged a second man with attempted murder in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Halifax in January.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on January 17, police responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building in the 5500 block of Bilby Street. Police located a 37-year-old man who had been stabbed. The man was transported to hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on January 25, members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, along with members of the Central Division Quick Response Unit, arrested a man at a residence in Halifax. Lorne Steven Pottie, 37, of Halifax, was charged with one count each of attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

At approximately 2 p.m. yesterday, members of the General Investigation Section arrested a second man in relation to this incident at a residence in Halifax. Robert Glenn Dillon, 54, of Halifax, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a charge of attempted murder.
