The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to attend the opening event for the West Bedford Park & Ride at 120 Innovation Drive from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, October 12. There will be a ribbon cutting and speeches to celebrate the opening of this location. Residents will also have the opportunity to learn more about how to use transit services.
The new West Bedford Park & Ride currently services Routes 90 Larry Uteck, 91 Hemlock Ravine, 194 West Bedford Express and 433 Tantallon. It offers a quick commute downtown without the need for paid parking, with more than 300 free parking spaces and a bike rack. Future installations will include heated shelters and a bike shelter with racks.
In 2016, the West Bedford Park & Ride was approved by Regional Council as part of the Moving Forward Together Plan, to support increasing transit ridership in a rapidly growing community, and as part of Halifax Transit’s commitment to improving access to public transportation for residents across the region. This central location allows residents in nearby growing communities to access transit using nearby active transportation infrastructure, while also providing those outside of the Urban Transit Service Boundary an option to complete the majority of their trips via transit.

Événement d’ouverture du parc de stationnement incitatif West Bedford
La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax invite les résidents à assister à l’événement d’ouverture du parc de stationnement incitatif West Bedford au 120, promenade Innovation de 11 h à midi le mercredi 12 octobre. Il y aura une cérémonie de coupe de ruban et des discours pour célébrer l’ouverture de cet emplacement. Les résidents auront également l’occasion d’apprendre plus sur la façon d’utiliser les services de transport en commun.
Le nouveau parc de stationnement incitatif West Bedford dessert actuellement les circuits 90 Larry Uteck, 91 Hemlock Ravine, le circuit express 194 West Bedford et le circuit 433 Tantallon. Il offre un trajet rapide au centre-ville sans avoir besoin d’un stationnement payant, avec plus de 300 places de stationnement gratuit et un support à bicyclettes. Les installations futures comprendront des abris chauffés et un abri à bicyclettes avec des supports.
En 2016, le parc de stationnement incitatif West Bedford a été approuvé par le Conseil régional dans le cadre du plan « Progresser ensemble », pour appuyer l’augmentation du nombre d’usagers du transport en commun dans une collectivité en croissance rapide, et dans le cadre de l’engagement d’Halifax Transit à améliorer l’accès au transport en commun pour les résidents de la région. Cet emplacement central permet aux résidents des collectivités voisines en croissance d’avoir accès au transport en commun en utilisant l’infrastructure de transport actif à proximité, tout en offrant aux résidents à l’extérieur des limites du service des transports urbains une option pour effectuer la majorité de leurs déplacements par transport en commun.
