Halifax Regional Police responded to 936 calls for service over the weekend. Three notable calls are as follows:
Man charged with robbery and weapons offences
On March 22 at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that occurred within the Halifax Shopping Centre at 7001 Mumford Road in Halifax. Mall security reported that a man had threatened staff with a knife and fled the scene with a quantity of clothing and shoes. There were no reported physical injuries. At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect in the area without incident.
A 38-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
- Robbery
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000.00

Youth charged with break and enter
On March 22 at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a break and enter in progress at the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation located at 5 Ruth Goldbloom Drive in Halifax. Three youth were observed breaking the store front window. At approximately 9:55 p.m., officers located and arrested the three suspects.
Three youth are scheduled to appear in Halifax youth provincial court at a later date, each to face charges of:
- Break and enter
- Theft under $5000.00
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00

Man charged with weapons offences
On March 23 at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to a weapons complaint at Walmart, located at 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. Following a brief dispute, a man threatened another person not known to him, with a knife. The victim was not physically injured. At approximately 7:20 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect on scene.
A 31-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Uttering threats
- Causing a disturbance
