The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of transportation disruptions to accommodate repairs to the property on South Park Street where a crane collapsed during Hurricane Dorian.
The temporary disruptions are as follows:
Halifax Transit:
Southbound transit routes 4, 10 and 14 that travel between Spring Garden Road and Morris Street will be detoured to Cathedral Lane. Northbound transit routes will remain unaffected.
There will be no service to the Halifax Transit stop 8308 on South Park Street south of Spring Garden Road, as well as stop 8313 on South Park Street north of University Avenue.
A temporary stop has been installed on Cathedral Lane to accommodate the detour.
There will be no change to service running northbound between University Avenue and Spring Garden Road, however there may be some delays due to the lane drop.
Pedestrians and cyclists:
The northbound sidewalk and bicycle lane are closed from 1471 to 1473 South Park Street (between Clyde Street and Spring Garden Road). A shared protected route for pedestrians and cyclists will be implemented and cyclists must dismount when using this route.
Parking:
A total of 10 metered parking spaces will be temporarily removed on South Park Street, between Clyde Street and Spring Garden Road.
Motorists:
An altered centerline will be in place from 1471 to 1473 South Park Street (between Clyde Street and Spring Garden Road). Two-way traffic will remain.
Access to businesses in the area will be maintained at all times while work is underway. The project is expected to be complete by this summer.

La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax avise les résidents de perturbations du transport en commun afin d’entreprendre des travaux de réparation à la propriété sur la rue South Park où une grue s’est effondrée au cours de l’ouragan Dorian.
Les perturbations temporaires sont les suivantes :
Halifax Transit
Les itinéraires de transport en commun 4, 10 et 14 en direction du sud qui passent entre le chemin Spring Garden et la rue Morris seront détournés sur la rue Cathedral. Les itinéraires de transport en commun en direction du nord n’auront aucune modification.
Il n’y aura aucun service à l’arrêt 8303 d’Halifax Transit sur la rue South Park au sud du chemin Spring Garden, ainsi qu’à l’arrêt 8313 sur la rue South Park au nord de l’avenue University.
Un arrêt temporaire a été installé sur la rue Cathedral pour permettre le détour.
Il n’y aura aucun changement au service en direction du nord entre l’avenue University et le chemin Spring Garden, toutefois il pourrait y avoir quelques retards en raison de la fermeture de voies.
Piétons et cyclistes
Le trottoir et la piste cyclable en direction du nord sont fermés du 1471 au 1473, rue South Park (entre la rue Clyde et le chemin Spring Garden). Une voie protégée commune pour les piétons et les cyclistes sera établie et les cyclistes devront débarquer de leur bicyclette lorsqu’ils utilisent cette voie.
Stationnement
Un total de 10 places de stationnement avec parcomètres seront temporairement retirées de la rue South Park, entre la rue Clyde et le chemin Spring Garden.
Automobilistes
La médiane sera modifiée du 1471 au 1473, rue South Park (entre la rue Clyde et le chemin Spring Garden). La circulation continuera d’être dans les deux sens.
L’accès aux commerces dans le secteur sera maintenu en tout temps au cours des travaux. Le projet devrait être achevé d’ici l’été.
