The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that the St. Margaret’s Bay Road construction project has been extended until late November.
Some factors contributing to delays include, but are not limited to:
- Bedrock encountered under the street for underground infrastructure installation
- The unanticipated removal of very old, unmarked water/sewer infrastructure
- Additional sewer and water lateral installations
- Additional storm sewer connection installations
Crews will continue working a seven-day work week during the months of October and November to finish this project as quickly as possible.
During the closure, customers will still have access to businesses on the impacted route, but there will be no through-traffic. Residents living in the affected area will have access to their driveways. A signed detour will be in place to assist motorists travelling in this area.
The municipality appreciates the patience of residents and motorists while this work is completed.
