The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that registration remains open for Natal Day parade entries.
As part of the municipality’s Natal Day weekend programming, residents are invited to participate in the Halifax-Dartmouth Natal Day parade on Monday, August 1, 2022. The parade will begin at Novalea Drive in Halifax at 10 a.m., and will conclude at Maple Street in Dartmouth. A maximum of 60 entries will be permitted to participate. In addition to the parade, the municipality will be offering the following Natal Day weekend programming:
- Grand Oasis x Natal Day Festival Series from Friday, July 29 to Monday, August 1. The four days of programming offer both Natal Day celebrations and a tribute to Emancipation Day. Festival artists include Ria Mae, Aquakultre, Haviah Mighty, AMA LOU, and events including a meet-and-greet with Bob the Builder and RUBBLE from Paw Patrol, the Buskers All-Star Finale, and more.
- Fireworks show over the Halifax-Dartmouth Harbour on Saturday, July 30 at 10 p.m.
- Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Series concert at the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal on Sunday, July 31 from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. featuring the African Nova Scotia Music Association Freedom Festival.
- Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race on Monday, August 1 at 8 a.m.
Residents are encouraged to explore the many community-led events over the Natal Day weekend, offering a diverse mix of music, culture, and family-friendly fun. Residents are also reminded that Halifax Transit will be offering free transit service on Fridays and free Alderney Ferry service on Saturdays as part of the municipality’s Free Fares Fridays & Free Sail Saturdays program.

La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax informe les résidents que les inscriptions sont toujours ouvertes pour participer à la parade du Jour de la fondation.
Dans le cadre de la programmation de la fin de semaine du Jour de la fondation de la municipalité, les résidents sont invités à participer à la parade du Jour de la fondation Halifax-Dartmouth le lundi 1er août 2022. La parade débutera sur la promenade Novalea à Halifax, à 10 h, et se conclura à la rue Maple à Dartmouth. Un maximum de 60 entrées pourra participer. Visitez www.natalday.org pour en savoir plus.
En plus de la parade, la municipalité offrira la programmation suivante pour la fin de semaine du Jour de la fondation :
- La Série de festivals Grand Oasis x Natal Day du vendredi 29 juillet au lundi 1er août. Les quatre jours de programmation offrent des célébrations du Jour de la fondation et un hommage au Jour de l’émancipation. Les artistes comprendront Ria Mae, Aquakultre, Haviah Mighty, AMA LOU et les événements comprendront une rencontre avec Bob le Bricoleur et RUBEN de la Pat' Patrouille, la finale des Buskers All-Star, et plus encore.
- Des feux d’artifice au-dessus du port d’Halifax-Dartmouth le samedi 30 juillet à 22 h.
- Un concert de la Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Series au terminal de traversier de Darmouth le dimanche 31 juillet de 13 h 30 à 21 h 30 mettant en vedette le festival de la African Nova Scotia Music Association Freedom.
- La course à pied du Jour de la fondation de Dartmouth le lundi 1er août à 8 h.
On encourage les résidents à explorer les nombreux événements communautaires au cours de la fin de semaine du Jour de la fondation, offrant un mélange diversifié de musique, de culture et de divertissement pour toute la famille. On rappelle aussi aux résidents qu’Halifax Transit offrira le transport en commun gratuit les vendredis et le service de traversier Alderney gratuit les samedis dans le cadre du programme de tarifs gratuits du vendredi et de trajet en traversier gratuit de la municipalité.
