The Halifax Regional Municipality invites residents to attend a virtual public engagement session on the proposed Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes Regional Park.
The Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes area is being explored as part of Parks Canada’s National Urban Parks program. This opportunity builds on the past work of the municipality, the Province of Nova Scotia, and local advocates in advancing the vision for this site.
In December 2021, Regional Council initiated a park planning project and in February 2022, the municipality hired an external stakeholder to initiate a comprehensive background study. This will help inform the municipality and its partners on key issues identified with the park’s potential development.
Residents interested in the initiative are encouraged to attend the public engagement session. The online session will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m. Residents can register here.
