Police are assisting Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency at a fire in an apartment building on Oak Street. A number of streets are closed in the area to allow first responders to deal with the fire.
Traffic is being redirected away from the area at the following locations:
- Maple Street at Thistle Street and Dahlia Street
- Crichton Avenue at Ochterloney Street and Banook Avenue
- Oak Street at Rose Street
- Hawthorne Street at Prince Albert Road
Road closures are expected to be in place for an extended period of time. Police are asking the public to remain away from the area.
