Police lay fraud charges

Halifax Regional Police have laid fraud related charges against six people in relation to an incident that occurred earlier this week in Halifax.

On March 12, at approximately 1 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 6000 block of London Street for reports of gun fire. Suspects entered the residence, and a firearm was discharged. A vehicle described as a sliver or grey Dodge Ram pickup truck fled the scene. There were no reported injuries.

Investigators located and seized a quantity of fraudulent identity documents and arrested six people who were inside the residence.

Renato Ferenc Feher, 19 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Fraud Over $5,000
  • Fraud Under $5,000
  • Possession of fraudulent Identity documents (X2)
  • Identity Theft (X2)

Sintiia Olah, 23 years-old and Rita Szimonetta Szava, 25 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Fraud Under $5,000
  • Identity Document
  • Identity Theft

Krisztian Markovics, 25 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Fraud Under $5,000
  • Identity Documents (X2)
  • Identity Theft (X2)

Laszlo Lakatos, 30 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Identity Documents (X2)
  • Identity Theft (X2)

Szabasztiam Berki, 21 years-old, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:

  • Identity Documents X3
  • Identity Theft X3

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020.
