Police continue to investigate the murder of Sheila Madore

Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of Sheila Madore being reported missing to police and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate her murder.

Sheila was reported missing to police on October 8, 2020 and she was last seen on July 23, 2020 in the Gottingen Street area of Halifax. On March 12, 2021, human remains were found in a wooded area near Elliott Street in Dartmouth. Investigators in the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division working with the Medical Examiner Service identified the remains as those of Sheila.

Anyone with information about Sheila’s murder is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.

Sheila’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.
