Police charged three people in relation to stolen vehicle

Police have charged three people in relation to a motor vehicle that was stolen in Halifax this morning.

At approximately 6 a.m. police received a report that a pickup truck and a trailer had been stolen from the area of Glebe Street. 

At approximately 9:20 a.m. Central Division patrol officers observed the stolen vehicle driving on Pepperell Street in Halifax and attempted to stop it. The driver refused to stop and struck a tree on Preston Street at which point the occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Officers, along with a K9 team, arrested two men and a woman a short distance away. There are no reported injuries.

A 38-year-old-man and a 32-year-old man are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face one count each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

An 18-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • Flight from police
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Failing to comply with a court order
  • Breach of probation
