Yesterday, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Walmart, located at 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. A man entered the store, began to steal items, then assaulted and threw the items at a security guard when they attempted to stop him. The security guard sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The man fled the scene and boarded a Halifax Transit bus.
Police located the suspect on the bus and arrested him at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Paul Ningeogat, 23, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of robbery and breach of probation (x2).
