Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred last night in Dartmouth.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. police responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive. The victim was walking in the area when he was assaulted and had his backpack stolen by a man known to him. The victim was later transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
East division patrol members and a K9 team located the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident.
Devon Joseph Edwards, 23, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation.
