Police charge man for firearms offences

Police have charged a man in relation to an ongoing firearms investigation.

On March 4, the Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Special Enforcement Section obtained a warrant and searched two addresses in Halifax in relation to an ongoing investigation to confirm that 11 restricted firearms were not in the possession of the registered owner. No firearms were located during the searches and the investigation revealed that the 11 firearms were not in the possession of the registered owner.

Curtis Frederick Samson, 35, is facing charges of:

  • Possession of a firearm at an unauthorized place other than a place indicated on the authorization/license as a place where it may be possessed (x 11)
  • Possession of a firearm at an unauthorized place other than a place where it may be possessed under the Firearms Act (x 11)
  • Lost a firearm and not reporting it within reasonable dispatch to a peace officer, firearms officer or chief firearms officer (x 11)

The investigation is ongoing.
