Police charge four men in relation to shooting

Police have charged four men in relation to a shooting in Dartmouth last month.

On May 27 at approximately 5:00 p.m. police responded to the area of Roleika Drive and Churchill Court in Dartmouth in relation to reports of multiple shots fired.  Shots were exchanged between a vehicle with three men and a man who was on foot in the area. A residence and a parked vehicle were struck, but there were no reports of injuries in relation to the incident.

On June 6, investigators from the General Investigative Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division along with members of the HRP and RCMP Emergency Response teams conducted searches of residences on Regent Drive and Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Three men were arrested without incident

Today, investigators from the General Investigative Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested a fourth man in Halifax without incident.

Shemar Leroy Willis, 21 is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Discharging firearm

N'Taylen Willis, 23, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Discharging a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order
  • Failing to surrender firearms contrary to a court order

Devrandre Qwa’Taylan Terqriez Willis, 21, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of discharging a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle.

Santieo Carvell Downey, 31, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face a charge of accessory after the fact.
