Police arrest two people with outstanding warrants and lay additional charges

Police have arrested two people who were wanted on multiple arrest warrants.

On April 5, Halifax Regional Police sought the public’s assistance in locating Brandon Jordon Lawrence, 29, who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for attempt murder and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on April 7, patrol members observed Lawrence in a stolen motor vehicle in the area of Willowbend Court in Halifax. After a brief vehicle and foot pursuit, officers arrested Lawrence and an adult woman who were the sole occupants of the vehicle.

Brandon Lawrence is facing the following charges:

  • Attempt murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Resist arrest
  • Failure to comply with a release order (x4)
  • Breach of probation
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Fail to appear for court

Kasandra Lyn Norwood, 31, is facing the following charges:

  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Resist arrest
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000

Both are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
