Police have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a drug trafficking charge.

On March 7 at approximately 9:40 p.m. officers from the Quick Response Unit attended an address in Halifax and arrested Jason Patrick Salter, 48, for failing to attend court in relation to a drug trafficking charge.

The charge stems from a search conducted at an address in Halifax on May 4, 2022, by investigators in the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators seized quantities of cocaine and cash, and arrested eight people, including Salter, at the scene. All eight people were charged with one count each of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Salter was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court yesterday to face one count of fail to attend court.
