The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that traffic lights are now operational at the Gottingen & Almon streets intersection (entrance to CFB Halifax – Stadacona).
These lights are necessary due to the realignment of Almon Street as it flows into the Canadian Forces Base.
The lights will flash red until Thursday morning at 10 a.m., when the lights will become fully functional. Motorists are reminded flashing red lights at an intersection mean drivers should treat it as a four-way stop.
The municipality asks for extra caution in the area as motorists become accustomed to the new traffic control measures.
