The deadline to apply for volunteer roles with various Regional Council advisory boards and committees is fast approaching. Residents interested in connecting with the community are encouraged to apply for these opportunities no later than Friday, Oct. 20.
Volunteer opportunities (and the number of positions currently open):
- Accessibility Advisory Committee (two positions)
- Active Transportation Advisory Committee (two positions)
- Design Review Committee (five positions)
- Grants Committee (three positions)
- Halifax Peninsula Planning Advisory Committee (four positions)
- Halifax Regional Library Board (two positions)
- Halifax Regional Water Commission Board (one position)
- Heritage Advisory Committee (six positions)
- Metropolitan Regional Housing Authority (one position)
- North West Planning Advisory Committee (four positions)
- Point Pleasant Park Advisory Committee (five positions)
- Regional Watersheds Advisory Board (six positions)
- Shubenacadie Canal Commission (two positions)
- Western Common Advisory Committee (five positions)
- Taxi and Limousine Liaison Group (one position)

Residents should note all appointments are made in accordance with the Public Appointment Policy adopted by Regional Council.
