Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that Birmingham Street, between Spring Garden Road and Clyde Street, will return to two-way traffic beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
This section of Birmingham Street had been converted to one-way traffic flow in 2014 to accommodate an encroachment by a nearby development. Now that the development is complete, two-way traffic can be reinstated.
Crews will be working in this area of Birmingham Street and Clyde Street today, Dec. 20, installing temporary ‘no parking’ signs to facilitate changes to signage and parking meters. New ‘two-way traffic’ signs will be installed at the beginning of the block to alert motorists to this traffic flow adjustment.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to travel through this area with caution over the next few weeks as residents adjust to this street network change.
The municipality regrets any inconvenience this work may cause.
