The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that applications have opened for the Outdoor Community Rink Program.
This program provides non-profit organizations the opportunity to operate a community rink on municipally owned property. The municipality offers grants of up to $1,000 to a minimum of seven successful applicants to assist them in covering the insurance cost associated with the operation of the community rink.
Applications opened on Monday, Sept. 1 and will remain open until Friday, Oct. 3.
The Outdoor Community Rink Program aligns with Regional Council’s commitment to advance community-based projects and support residents’ ability to participate in outdoor winter activities in their own communities.

Ouverture des candidatures pour le programme de patinoires communautaires extérieures
La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax informe les résidents que les candidatures sont ouvertes pour le programme de patinoires communautaires extérieures.
Ce programme offre aux organismes à but non lucratif la possibilité d’exploiter une patinoire communautaire sur une propriété municipale. La municipalité offre des subventions pouvant atteindre 1 000 $ à un minimum de sept candidats retenus pour les aider à couvrir les frais d’assurance liés à l’exploitation de la patinoire communautaire.
Les candidatures ont été ouvertes le lundi 1er septembre et resteront ouvertes jusqu’au vendredi 3 octobre.
Le programme de patinoires communautaires extérieures s’harmonise avec l’engagement du conseil régional à promouvoir des projets communautaires et à soutenir la participation des résidents aux activités hivernales en plein air dans leurs propres communautés.
